Texas’ DPS office is now the best place to be able to get your hands on the appointment for a DPS position, according to a new survey of local officials by the Dallas Morning News.
The survey of more than 1,200 local officials across Texas found that 90 percent of them say that they would prefer to be assigned to a DPS job, compared to just 50 percent who said they would want to be a part-time employee.
In addition, nearly half of the local officials surveyed said they wanted to be hired as a full-time, part- time, or full-service employee.
The poll, conducted by Dallas-based Harris Interactive for the Morning News, is the latest in a series of studies on how people perceive the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
The survey, which was conducted by Harris Interactive, also found that more than 60 percent of the city’s residents would prefer a full service job over a part time one, and that 40 percent of people would prefer not to be in the city at all.
“I think it is clear that people who live in Dallas and Fort Worth do want to get a good quality of life, and a good job, in terms of jobs and quality of living,” said Brian Rieker, Harris Interactive president and CEO.
“They just want a little bit more flexibility to take advantage of those opportunities.”
According to the Morning Sun, this latest poll results show that residents of Dallas and its suburbs want to live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area as much as possible, and want to keep it that way.
The study found that 75 percent of residents would like to see more of Dallas move to Dallas-area cities, and would like the metro area to expand from 5 million to 7 million people by 2040.
