When it comes to online testing, the states of New South Wales and Queensland are in the majority.
The New South Welsh Government said it had passed a motion at the state’s Legislative Assembly this week calling for online testing to be banned in the state.
But Premier Mark McGowan said he had asked the Queensland Health Department to study the issue, and the Health Department had already given its consent.
“It would be a mistake for the state of Queensland to ban online testing,” he said.
“I don’t think that’s a good thing for Queenslanders.”
Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls said he was disappointed the issue had been delayed for so long.
“We’ve had more than 1,300,000 online tests over the last two years,” he told Sky News.
“So I would be happy if we could get the decision right as quickly as possible.”
